Missing Orde rNumbers

I just wondered if anyone could tell me why I have large numbers of order numbers missing??? On one it jumps from no. 44 to no. 52 and I haven't deleted any orders.

If you are using a Payment Service Provider then check the 'Pending Payment Service Provider' tab in the 'Orders' tab. Any orders that come through without payments (because the customer has bailed out) end up there.
