View Full Version : Suspend Item Problem

I found out today that if I have an item with stock monitoring "on" and the stock quantity of less than 0, Actinic Business 6.0.2 suspends the item on the website even if the suspend level is set at -999 and the software does not show suspend checked. Is this a known problem?
I've just tried this here on 6.0.2 and it worked, there may be something more mysterious about your problem.

My site has sizes, colors, etc. for most of our products. So to track stock for each combination I create a hidden product for each unique combination and then link to it in the component section of the actual product that gets displayed on the website. This is a technique I learned through the Actinic newsgroups and it has worked well. It is the hidden items that track the stock and show up in the stock levels list that is showing the problem I described in the original post.
When you track stock this way the product is shown as being in stock on the web site but when you try to buy it you get a message saying that it is out of stock. Is this what is happening or are you seeing different behaviour?

Yes, I do understand that is how it works (I would like a better option in the future). My problem is that when I set the the suspend level to something like -999 or -500 it has no effect. When my item showed -1 in stock, it prevented the customer from purchasing that item combination even though Actinic does not have the suspend order box checked. We only allow this to happen for products that are already in transit to us and we don't charge the customer until the product has been received and prepared to ship. It just appears to be a flaw in the Actinic software...

I can confirm this is a problem in the software, and I have reported it to the team to be fixed in the next release.
I have asked them for a script patch to get you working in the short term.

That would be great.

The receommendation from the team in the short term is to add '100' to all the stock levels of your assocaited products in order to ensure they do not go into negative figures.
That will hopefully tide you over until the next maintenance release.
