I've just bought V6.02 and tried to upgrade from Version 5 over the weekend (early Sunday Morning - no lie in there then!), and kept on getting the error message that there was a file name the same on my old V5 site and the new version 6 site. There would be I as had upgraded from V5 so there were a lot of same names there. I renamed the file and tried again, same result, I renamed the folder and tried again, same result. I deleted the Version 5 file and tried again - same result. I un-installed and re-installed V6 and tried again (with the V5 file still deleted) same result. Gave up and re-enabled V5 to accept online orders.
So I've got the brand spanking new snazzy version 6 and can't use it. Anybody else had a similar problem?

I had a similar problem, but if I remember correctly, it's because I was using using images in a /images directory in V5.
When I upgraded to V6 the images were copied over to the V6 site directory, but Catalog was behaving as if they were being called from the V5/images directory.
I think if you check the location of images in the various bits of 'design/options' you might find some being referenced from the directory you used for V5.
I'm a bit vague on this because once I've solved a problem I tend to forget how I did it.

Thanks Mike,
I've checked that, but all of the references are to the V6 Site1 directory. I'm intending to uninstall V5 completely on one PC, do a clean install of V6 import a snapshot and then upload the new version - should be simple process really shouldn't it?

I can't really advise you as I've always had problems when doing a full version upgrade. The last time I had so many problems with my templates I went back to standard ones and re-made all my edits.
The best thing to do is give actinic a call and check with their tech support. I've alwasy found them very helpful.
