View Full Version : Customer Loyalty / Money Off Vouchers

Hi,
Does anyone know an easy way of offering virtual 'money off' vouchers to my customers.
The way I would expect it to work is that they would select their chosen products as normal.
Then when they check out, they would enter a unique money off voucher ID (taken from the personalised mailing I've sent them) which would then automatically deduct the appropriate amount from their total order value before they go on to pay in the usual way.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Rgds

One of our partners has developered a loyalty scheme for v4 and v5.
Take a look at

Particularly when compared to the investment in the original Actinic Software!
Any alternatives?

Has this feature now been included in v6? Or is there another bolt on solution available? Preferably a cheap one, or more preferably a free one!

Hi John
Gift vouchers will be available in forthcoming version 7. At present you cannot do this with version 6.
At present the only known loyalty card scheme has been done by our partners Smart Decisions. Here is a link to their scheme (http://www.ecommerce.uk.com/actinic_plugins_loyalty.html)
This is a plugin to version 6.
The only thing you will be able to do in standard version 6, is to offer discount on cart values
Kind Regards

I haven't tried this yet as I was wondering the same thing. But can Actinic hold a negative value product?
If so then then voucher could be added as a product.
How it would work in practise I couldn't say but just thinking laterally, [ best done lying down;-) ].

Probably you can use discounts triggered by a voucher from referrer.pl. You can check out my guess here (http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?threadid=4555)
I hope this helps,

If someone tries this and gets it working, please post the results - this is a very popular topic...

You cannot enter a negative product value in Actinic but you can enter it straight into the database. This means the customers can add that product to their baskets to get a discount at the checkout. There are problems in that the cart does not show the discount (although the totals are correct) and the discount it removed on download so you have to go and add it again (in the database directly). The only benefit of doing this rather than having a global discount on the catalog is that the product can be hidden from some users if you use logged in customers in business.
Also if you have a dual currency display you can't do this because entering the negative value in the database stops your catalog from uploading.
