I have just changed host and uploaded my site to the new webspace and on trying a test order have noticed that my order numbers have been reset.

Is there anyway to set these number to continue from where they left off?

You need to use a Hex editor to alter Order.num on your web-site's acatalog directory. This is a tiny binary file (only 4 bytes long) with the most significant bytes first.

You can get a limited use hex editor from www.bpsoft.com - just FTP the file from your server (during a quiet time) bump it and FTP it back.

What I've done is to start my order sequence with a large number. E.g. 40000 when running V4 and upped it to 50000 when we went to V5 , etc. This way we can remember which systems old orders were processed by.

6.1.0 includes the ability to manually reset the order number. If it is a serious problem, you could consider upgrading.

I think you probably have Version 6.02.

Version 6.1. supercedes 6.02 and is only just available.

You are right it is v6.02 that i have downloaded and not v6.1 .

Now i know it's in V6.1 i'll upgrade when i get a chance.

Cheers again

If I were you I'd wait for patched version of 6.1 to come out (6.1.1). It should be available in a day or so.
