Keywords: Why are commas and other chars converted to "&#...;" in the Meta Tags?

In the Keywords, Actinic converts the commas, apostrophes, and other chars to the &#...; ascii format.

Why is that? Won't this penalize pages if placed in the keywords?

Hi there,

What version of 5 are you running, wondering if it was a bug in an old version? Some search engines do like read meta keywords (Google for instance) so i will doubt it that you will get penalised for this. Instread it reads content on the page, as well as relevant page title.
