Uploading Problems

Hi

I'm getting this error message when uploading store...

"An error occurred while merging files on remote site. The web site index has been corrupted. Catalog is unable to update the index. copy ../acatalog/fulltext.fil to ../acatalog/oldtext.fil. permission denied. please refresh the website.

I tried to refresh the site but same error.

This started happening after i connected to my site via command line ftp and deleted index.html, the acatalog directory and all the contents of the cgi-bin.

I'm not sure if it's something i've done or a server problem, i contacted my isp and they said they had upgraded the cgi server this morning. They are looking into my problem but i was wondering if it was something i could fix from here.

If you deleted the acatalog folder when you recreated it did you set the permisssions?

I suggest you:

1) click the 'Test' button in 'Advanced | Network Setup' to ensure your server works correctly.

2) go to 'Web | Refresh Website' to get the entire site uploaded afresh.

Yes the permissions were wrong on the /acatalog/ directory.

I fixed the problem and it works fine now.
