stop customers ordering certain sizes in certain colours

Hi

i added stock to an individual item and all the options are enabled

i still can not addjust the stock for individual size and colour options alowing me to stop customers ordering certain sizes in certain colours that we have sold out of----which is my primary aim ( i dont care about stock as this is taken care of on a seperate system)

please explain as if your talking to a small child LOL!

ok


i set up a hidden product witch has no stock and is susspended(call it #q).

i linked the size / colour permutation witch i dont want customers to order to the out of stock item (#q).

but you can still select the permutation that i want to suspend


(i hope that made sense ??)


can any one expalain what i am doing wrong?


and is there not and easyer way of stopping customers selecting a certain size colour permutation??

The content of the actual drop-down list does not change. The customers are shown the warning message when they try and add a particular combination to the shopping cart.
