View Full Version : Integrating actinic with Fortronic systems?

Hi,

We process our orders on a standard Fortronic TT41 card machine, by typing in the card number as shown in actinic. This makes the whole order processing, erm, process very time consuming. Is there any way of hooking up a fortronic-type system to the PC and have Actinic send the information to it?

If not, what quicker alternatives are there to speed up the process?

Thanks,

HMC

The quickest and easiest way is to use a PSP / card processor to process the payments online for you.

The benefits are:

1. You should really have a separate account for online purchases anyway.
2. payments are automatically processed.
3. You get additional anti-fraud checking. CV2 and postcode/address checking.
4. No-one in your company sees the card data, so you don't have to worry about employee fraud and the consequences.

The downside is the additional cost. ~ £20/month with protx, bit more with the others.

Thanks. Is this a more common approach than our current one?

I believe so. I'd be very surprised if more than 90% of actinic users didn't do it this way. (It's probably more like 98% but I just don't know and there are always a few people who start out by just putting payments through their card terminal).
