Custom properties and product duplicates

Hi,

I have created product duplicates then I added some custom properties for adding additional images to a product. All works fine, however, the duplicate product does not reflect the changes made.

Any ideas as to why this happens, it is pretty easy to re-create the dupe, is this a known problem, is there a workaround?

Believe the duplicate product is duplicate for stock / reference purposes, but content displayed with the duplicate is designed to be unique if you wish it to be, i.e. main product can use one product template, image and text, with the duplicate using completely different, thus not copying everything, but providing the method for same product with differences.
