Thanks Jan and all that answer here!

On page 28 of the Site Builders Guide it talks about Associated Products. I'm having a problem setting an associated product up and am not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The example in the books is a batteries with a radio. Here is the problem, right now if my customer buys 5 radios they get 5 "batteries". What if I just want to give them or charge them for 1 (quantity) 1 of batteries with the purchase of the 5 radios?

Product A Quantity 5 at $5 each equals 25 dollars
Product B Quantity 1 at $5 total equals $5

TOTAL Order $30

Right now I end up with 5 x5 for Product B. Right now the quantity of B is tied to A. Is there any way I can force the quantity of B to just be one for each "purchase" of A?

No - component quantities are always tied to product quantites. The only way you could do it is have a product underneath your main product for buying batteries. You could also put a link in your full description of your main product that says something like 'Buy Batteries HERE'.
