products on home page

I want to display a product on my homepage and think I can only do this by adding it as a fragment of my brochure page which doesn't display anything about the product I want visitors to see except a title description and photo.
How do I show my products price or show usual price and then special deal price or something like that,
I'm confused?

You can either create a fragment with
Image to left of text and title.
You can then type the info in the text and link to the product so customers can be directed to it.

Or you can alter the template in dreamweaver, which is what we have done on the right hand side.
