There is no country for Gurnsey and Jersey.
They don't pay VAT and they have their own packing costs (normal UK prices for packet post and £19.10 for any parcelforce delivery). Is there any way to add a country or modify an existing country so that I can make a unique packing and tax system for them?
Cheers,
Alex Paul

Yep just edit the countries list - its not they have a seperate tax system, it's just a non VAT area.
What you need to do for these is as follows;
Nil VAT
Set up a Country - Channel Islands is the normal term!
Set up a shipping zone for this as per your couriers pricings

Thanks for the info however, I may be overlooking the obvious but how do you Add a country?
I have tried both advanced-locations and business settings but can't see anything.

Hi,
Just had a look in the V6 that I'm currently working on and I must admit it does not seem obvious!
In V3 there used to be a method of doing it within the shipping area -
I would probably just open the main database in Access and add it directly in there - that is my generic way of doing things when I can't see the obvious answer!

Sad to say that I don't have access!!!
There must be a way to do it through Actinic surely not everybody can be excluding the poor old Channel Islands!!

OK- I took a proper look and saw how to do it within actinic now!
Go to advanced | locations
see in the top corner of the box next to where it says countries there is a little + sign - click on that and it will add a field at the bottom of the list.
The valid formats col should be the same as the UK
choose a country code that is not used - CI is used already
that should work,
Its a bit hidden as to how to get into that though Actinic!

Where do you set the new country to be nil vat? Can this be done with the 'simple vat' option set?
