My customers are receiving an 'External Server Error' when ordering so I contacted my host.
They found the al000001.pm folder was empty so they replaced al000001.pm / ae000001.pm and ts000001.pl files and people could then order.

BUT

When I update my acatalog v3 it sticks at a command called al000001.pm. I then have to end the program. This empties the files on the host’s servers and we are back to square one!

Any ideas?

Jon.

Guessing aliitle I'm afraid, but....

I wonder if they (host) have set the permissions/user properly. If you are hosted on a unix type box, and they have put files there, it may be in their userid, and not yours (AC's) thus preventing AC from maintaining them.

Try getting them to delete their versions and then you doing a site refresh.

or

get them to set the permissions so AC can read/write the .pm files, and it should then be able to maintin then.

I think you'll find if you clicked the 'Test' button in 'View | Preferences | Network' then the test would fail. It looks as though your server permissions are all wrong.

The Advanced User Guide will tell you what you need to have.

To fix this problem we changed the CGI Script ID No. in preferences / network from 1 to 2

All .pl and .pm files now end in 2, E.G. al000002.pl
