Hi all, We are thinking of getting another site where I can list all products from different suppliers etc.
And keeping our current site with our own Brand of Products.. BUT I am not sure how that will work with actinic etc
Keeping all the same products on the same site is not an option. My customers use membership for some purchases in order to get discounts, I want to be able to keep this feature on both websites, Please advise. Thanks.
I need as many ideas as possible

Does that mean 2 computers as well? Is there another alternative, as I assume I can only run 1 copy of actinic on my pc.
Kiki, a copy of Actinic developer will let you have as many websites as you want , although you still have to design and deal with each site (Jan at MoleEnd has some great automation software for multiple sites). It may of course be cheaper just to buy another copy of Catalog rather than upgrade to developer.
As to how you set up the new site and so on, well I guess the sky's the limit and down to what you want. Some fantastic replies are on this forum to help you with that.
Actinic developer will run nicely on 1 pc and you can process the orders from various sites on the one machine, although I think you'd have to be quite disciplined not to get too confused. I'm currently using developer to run 1 website and I've just started on the 2nd. Takes some getting your head around - well it does for me!
Don't confuse the Actinic licensing issue (you must be properly licensed for the number of sites you run) with the practical issue of running 2 sites.

Kiki,
You do not need to purchase Developer to have 2 sites, you are correct about being able to run only a single installation of Actinic on a computer. You can have 2 sites on teh single installation by purchasing an additional license key from Actinic. In your version of Actinic Business, click on File | Sites | License New Site, this will bring up a box that says "New Site", you can give it a name here, and then "Authorization Key", enter the new license key here and click on 'OK'. This will create a new site in the Sites folder.
Actinic will open on the last site worked on, to go to the next site to make changes or download orders you will have to go to File | Sites and double click on the second site to open it. Each site will operate independent of each other because the contents of the site will be held in the individual site folders in C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\. On creating a new site and licensing it you will find 2 folders in your Sites folder, Site1 ( default ) and Site2 or the name you choose to assign to the site.
Kind regards,

Don't suppose anyone knows how much an additional license is?
I would like to run a US site in tandem with my UK site, basically the same but changing the currency.

Can't you display prices in £ and $ and make your life a bit easier?
Can't you display prices in £ and $ and make your life a bit easier?
Also what about handling stock, two websites hooked into one stock list, I'm wondering if this possible?

Sure can, Miscellaneous tab of design options. Also display in ... etc.
Should save you some time i would have thought, especially with central stocking.

Hi There,
I can offer a 10% discount on a second copy of Catalog or Business to a current user. I can also offer a £200 deduction off Developer for Catalog users, or £400 deduction for Business users off Developer.
Developer does let you run multiple sites completely independantly of each other,
