Hi

we are using email actinic business v4

we changed our servers over the weekend. now when a customer places an order no emails are sent out. the customer does not get an email and we do not get one saying we have an order to download. it was working fine before the server change.

when i run test i get the following message:

The computer you specified as your mail server is not a valid mail (SMTP) server. Check the computer name or address and try again.

and then:

Mail server messages:

DNS lookup failed - host not found No such file or directory

any ideas??

The "DNS lookup failed" bit indicates that you are specifying a non-existent SMTP server for e-mails.

Talk to your new service provider and ask them the name of the SMTP server you should be using.
Tell them you have Perl scripts that send e-mail messages.
You may also want to tell them what you currently have in the Advanced / Network Settings / SMTP server field and ask them if that makes sense.

Now make sure that the name of the SMTP server they tell you about is entered in your Advanced / Network Settings / SMTP server field. Then try the Network Test again.
