You will have to forgive me as I am very new to Actinic and have very little experience of html so I think I am going to be asking a lot of silly questions - please bear with me!

I have set up my Home Page and other brochure pages which work fine and I have them showing in the navigation bar at the top of the screen which all works fine. I now want to have a way of entering the store, prefably a button on the screen, which allows people to enter the catalogue. By clicking the button or link I want them to go to a page which then has a link to each product section (if that makes sense) but I do not know how to do it. There is a "products" links in the top navigation bar that if I click takes me straight into my first product section which I haven't added and I do not know how to get rid of or amend.

Please can someone help me. Thanks

The catalogue will be created as you add sections and products - currently I suspect you have not created any so you are taken to a blank catalogue index page.

Thanks for you reply. I have added some sections and products, when I click on "products" when in the offline preview view it takes me straight to the first section of products but I want it to go to a page which then has links to each of my sections.

highlight the one with the green icon in the content tree, then preview.

Thanks very much for that. I have had a look and it is all there. Next question - how can I get a link on the home page to that page that I have just viewed.

Thanks again

the link may already be there, if you just viewed all your catalogue sections

its much easier to help if people can see the site your working on, you should make this a priority no matter what the site looks like at the mo.
im not familiar with that theme but most of the themes automaticly generate a link to the top level of your store and place it somewhere on the home page, along with some sort of section tree for users to navigate, you may note that these links will become whatever you name your top level sections, these will only work live.
until then you will have to highlight the section above the one you want to view in the tree as described before.

Thanks very much for that information. I have looked and the "Omit Navigation" is unticked. The Image and highlighted image are section1.gif and section2.gif. Does this seem right?
