section lists on homepage

Hi im trying to include the top-level categorys onto the brochure homepage of a site im developing.

I've followed the advanced used guide for creating javascript arrays and such like but the respective NETQUOTE var's are always just printed to the page. I've got the actiniccore.js and actinicextras.js included. I've also read various posts on this forum about the subject but am still stuck

I don't want to simply hardcode the section links as the client will be updating their products / sections on a regular basis.
