PO Number ........?

On every order received on the misc tab the is a box where you can type called PO Number.

Please can someone advise what this means and what it is for :confused:

Select that field and press F1 - that will bring up a 'tooltip' type help that says it is a field that, if selected in configuration, will allow the customer to enter their purchase order reference. How to configure it is also mentioned.
