hello helpful people!
I want to put a marquee instead of the static text i have in my header on my actinic site. Exactly like I have on my frontsite pages at www.edinburghcameras.co.uk
Can I use html? It doesn't seem to work when i try.

Have you put marquee code somewhere in the body of the actinic site and uploaded it to the website? I see no marquee reference in the page you pointed to.
I would expect to either see something you have hardcoded into the template or a fragment with embedded html - either way, I would expect to see something in the page source code and there is nothing there that I can find.

tried to put something like below in. But the html code comes us as well, and the marquee doesn't work..........do I have to write something else in, or use Actinic coding?
<strong><font color="#FF0000" size="3">InfoWire:</font></strong><font color="#FFFFFF" size="3" face="Sylfaen">
</font><font color="#FFFFFF" size="3" face="Sylfaen">
<marquee bgcolor=336699 width=800 height=20 direction=left>

The marquee is working on your home page (which means you have the code correctly entered in Act_BrochurePrimary. Did you mean to put it in Act_Primary?

don't do it.... it is really iritating and can alienate customers
at worst put it on your brochure page but not your primary

It will also date your site to about 1998 - if you need moving text go with GIF or SWF files

... when do you get the gold watch?

ok, i'll look for other options to spruce the site up.
Just to let you know, since i've started using the marquee on the home pages, conversion rates, and inquiry rates have gone up by around 30%....
so it may be dated, but certainly gets people reading info.
The times online recently reported a rise of 60% on click through rates because of their marquee. Maybe worth a try?!
thanks for the help anyway! D
