View Full Version : Express Template Question

We have provided a range of the popular Actinic themes for people to use for their store designs. We are also offering a design service to clients for a small additional cost where we will take their existing site design and apply it to their Actinic express store.

So to confirm... the templates are fixed and we can't modify them to any great extent?

Reason for asking is I have it in my mind to open some 'niche' sites around our main site, but each of these satellite sites would only have a dozen-or-two products on it (so upgrading to Developer seems a bit of overkill).

As I would prefer each site to have it's own look and it's own checkout (rather than at some point forwarding them to our current site and current sites checkout) a few Express sites seemed like it would make a good option - at least until I discovered the possible template and hosting restrictions?

Hi Graham

That's correct. Actinic Express is an online ecommerce system hosted by us. Users don't have any access to the HTML templates that control the look and feel of the store, but we are offering a design service for any customers who wish the look and feel of their Actinic Express site to be continuous with their existing web site.

and how far down the road are we looking before Partners can host and offer the same design service?

Hi Jo

The ability for partners to host Express and offer a design service is still a way off I'm afraid. Express is still a very new product and we want to make sure it is as good as it can be before offering it wider.

Please note that the design service is not fully up and running yet but should be by the end of the month or early March.

Will companies/individuals who own their own rack space and just want to do it all themselves be able to use Actiic Express?

Or is it planned as being a Actinic or Actinic partner only hosted product?

Should it be offered to non-partners as a stand alone product, how much will the software cost? ie no monthly rental and a single flat-fee.

I've been told it will be offered to Partners to host, but there is no date for this yet
