Duplicate Products

I have created our tradiitonal online sweetshop, www.AQuarterOf.co.uk in Business v6.

I need to have sweets in several sections e.g. Sherbert Fountains in both Sherbert and Liquorice.

I have created the product and the created the duplicate as shown in the manual. However, I have to manually add the image and the description (the duplicate does not take this automatically from the master).

I am pulling all of the products from an external database which holds all of the information on the products. Is there any way of forcing the duplicate product to refer to the database as well? At the moment the duplicates seem to be only held in Business.

I have had a similar problem, the way it got around this was to create the part & part no and hide it so it it not visible on the web site but is shaded in your catalogue, then select this and right click your mouse button copy and past where you want it and do this as many times as you need to. Then associate the price of your product to the hidden version. this will then change any prices and descriptions for all the customer products when you update the hidden part.

You will need to turn off auto part numbering if you wish to use your own part numbers.
