I am finding that customers do not understand that they need to select 'Protx Form' in order to pay by card. I am having to ask them to repeat their order which isnt exactly convenient and Im worried i may lose customers. Couldnt the options be more clearly labelled?

Yes, you can label the choice anything you like - just change the text in View | Business Setting - payment and security tab, Web description column.

Bill - is that editable in the online Express version?

@Jont Once more I get caught by the annoying fact that I cannot filter which boards I see on this forum.

@Bonnie
The answer I gave is correct for v7 of the full software - I do not know if you have this option in Express.

It is editable online by Actinic Express, more or less what Bill said but Business Settings instead of View Business Settings.

I couldn't see which of the payment options was protx when I looked at the example site however if you click on the edit button on each of the possibilities you will find it.

Thanks Bill and all for the info, in fact I managed to discover this for myself shortly after, but it's nice to know there are people happy to help. I find the lack of help with Express for the beginner to online selling a bit tough.

Can someone kindly explain about the option to take credit card details for later processing- technically my merchant account requires me not to take payment until goods are despatched. :confused: Bonnie

There are two ways to take credit card info for later processing on the desktop versions - I know at least one is available on Express.

The first is a feature called Pre-Authorisation with the Payment service providers such as PROTX. (I believe from discussion on the boards that Protx do a better job of the pre-auth than other providers).

The second is to use full SSL and the inbuilt Actinic Javascript method to capture the card details on your own site for later manual processing through either an online terminal interface - or using a machine authorised for this use by the bank.

With the first option - you do not run any risks with user credit card numbers because you never receive that number on your own equipment, it is transmitted to, processed and stored on the Payment Service Providers secure servers.
