I'm having a memory block this morning. I've done this before but just cannot remember how to do this.

I want to be able to paste the above image (the player) onto another without the white background. I'm using Paint Shop Pro, and the Magic Wand feature. Manage to get the `cut out` of the player done but when I copy and paste it I can only get the background to paste. Selecting within the player only selects one colour or part of the player.

Is it really so long since I've done this?

Do you have an option to invert selection once you have used the wand? Basically, with the wand you are selecting the bits you don't want...

select the white background with the wand then Selections>Invert. Then do the copy and paste.

Edit: Looks like Bill's running through the forum a couple of minutes ahead of me. :)

You can also change the initial setting of the wand from the "-" to "+" and vice versa so you don't have to keep inverting the selection - depends which method you prefer to work with during initial selection
