Hi,

A client of ours is having issues with orders not being as regular as they used to be, even though they have lowered their prices!

They have noticed that on the days where business is low, there is a lot of missing order numbers out of the sequence, is this normal? And when in the ordering process is the order number allocated?

They have not been able to reproduce any errors and no one has complained that the website hasn't worked, but they are still quite concerned.

They use actinic 6 business edition and use a actinic shared ssl checkout.

Many thanks for any advice you can give me,

John

To create a missing order number you have to go to the checkout and use actinic's javascript encryption but back out before completing the payment details. I believe all the other checkout methods work fine.

Thanks for the reply,

That’s strange, I wonder how all the order numbers are going missing, is there any way of logging what’s happening in the shop to see how far people are getting, or any errors they may be receiving?

Thanks again,

John

You should be able to get this info out of the standard web server logs with a half decent log anayser.

Actinic keeps an error log in the acatalog folder called error.err. You can view it from your browser and that may help you work out what's going on.

Have they looked in the 'pending' tab for orders there?
