Hi Actinc customers
Has anyone integrated Actinic catalogue V6 with Host Europe?
If so, did you have problems connecting to www.secure-website.com using the automated “network setup” within Actinic?

The problem is that I can’t use the automated feature ( network setup) of Actinic V6
As Host Europe doesn’t support direct access to their secure FTP.. see reply from Host Europe below.
Dose this mean I have to manually upload files and modify pages etc …
Reply from Host Europe…
“
We do not run a secure FTP server on www.secure-website.com. You can
only upload files to this via the web interface after you have logged
in.”

It seems likely that Actinic will not be able to work with those settings. Actinic requires access to the cgi-bin (whether secure or non-secure) via FTP. That has always been one of the system requirements.
If you go to 'Advanced | Generate Scripts' then Actinic will generate all the Perl on the desktop and you could manually upload it - but I would suggest finding a host that makes the control of https URLs easier.
I would call them and ask whether they can make secure webspace available to you under your domain name.

I am sure you can have a secure cert under you own domain for £25 per year. Check out your myseverworld
Also Actinic must log in before it uploads so you are logged in.

Host Europe Wrote.....
Hi,
I would suggest using the method of saving the files to desktop then uploading them using our manager.
Alternatively you could purchase the full secure server certificate to use on your web space.
This price includes all certification fees and configuration of your secure server on our web servers, once your secure server is set up you will be able to make any document within your public_html directory secure.
£250 set up fee and £75 per quarter + VAT.
Don't I get a secure cert with SecureHosting/ EPDQ?
This is working out expensive ;
Host Europe £200
Actinc software £3xx
SecureHosting £100
and now more ££££?

Sorry mate I read the wrong price. What should happen is that when the order deatils are completed the buyer is sent to say "Worldpay/Secure Hosting" and the CC details are taken then in a secure enviroment.
Unless you wish to download the CC details and use a PDQ machine

Can anyone help, I'm not sure which files go to the secure server ?
To update your web site installation,
o Transfer the CGI scripts to the CGI-BIN on your web server:
nq001024.pl
ms001024.pl
ca001024.pl
os001024.pl
bb001024.pl
ss001024.pl
se001024.pl
cm001024.pl
rs001024.pl
001024.pl
md001024.pl

ad001024.pm
as001024.pm

ax001024.pm
cm001024.pm
sm001024.pm
ab001024.pm
sl001024.pm
o Create the Actinic Ecommerce web site directory
o Place the Java applet archive files in the Actinic Ecommerce web site directory:
encrypt.zip
encrypt.cab
o Create a subdirectory tree (COM/Actinic/Catalog) off of your
catalog web site directory and place the loose Java applet
class files in it:
EA.class
BOS.class
OB.class
OR.class
R.class
TD.class
S.class
FI.class
IC.class
If the web server is a UNIX server, be sure to set the proper executable permissions on the CGI scripts. The CGI scripts can be found in C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\Sites\Site1\. The applet archives and loose classes can be found in C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\.

doesn't sound like host europe secure-website is any use to anyone
for actinic you need a sever with FTP access and perl 5.06 or later - only the payment forms need SSL and presumably that is already provided by the secure-hosting / ePDQ integration

So I don’t need to use Host Europe’s SSL site?
I’m using Secure Hosting/ePDQ for credit card payment. Within
Actinic, do I need to tick the SSL box in the Business section.
If so, what would the correct SSL Secure Hosting FTP settings be within the network set-up window. Or is this already set-up within Actinic
In general how do I point pages that require SSL to Secure Hosting.

you will need some regular webspace to hold the actinic catalog site - can be with any hosting provider - as long as it allows FTP access and user CGI scripts.
setup for ePDQ/securehosting is included in version 6 of actinic catalog onwards - you can simply select secure-hosting as payment option in business settings - and enter the username and password they gave you.
unfortunately your hosting-europe is redundant as it cannot be accessed via FTP which is required to update the site/download orders - perhaps they'll give a refund or change it to regular hosting?

I can send you a copy of the host europe settings if you require. You can find them also on the on-line support.
I have found there space really fast and easy to use
You dont need to tick any SSL stuff

Many thanks for all your help… I’m now testing!!
If you are using secure hosting or other payment scheme within Actinic, that is, automatically configured on selection.
Could Actinc add a popup or something to advise that SSL is not needed for this connection to your payment provider. But may be used for other SSL requirement..
I have some questions on templates in the general section!
Best

Correction for above : SSL is needed but is automatically setup!
