Hiding Duplicate Products

When I select the "Hide on website" check box on the original product the duplicates are not automatically hidden. Is there a way that I can have this done automatically?

We do not have a stock management system so when something goes out of stock I need to be able to remove it easily from the web temporarily... I really don't want to miss a duplicate listing.

Tracking duplicates is a known bug-bear in v7 (although the provision of duplicates from v6 was worth the upgrade alone) .. hopefully v8 will provide better tracking / maintenance of master and duplicates

I have started using a MoleEnd product to help with this - it is a little 'clunky' in that you run it seperately from Actinic, but it updates all the duplicates for you so you don't miss any changes.
