Is it possible to see some of the available templates?
Or is there a directory of Actinic Express sites??
Any testimonials on how good AE is in the real world??

For what it's worh my site www.glovepuss.co.uk has been up since February and has functioned without a hitch. I am totally non technical, Im sure someone else could do a better job. I found it quite tricky to size the images correctly as the limit of 100Kb is quite tight. One drawback to Express is that you cannot set up deferred transactions or pre auth with Protx which is technically a requirement in the small print of the Streamline contract. The postage bit is limited to ordinary post. not Post Office signed for which one is advised to use, so i have just gone for postage inclusive prices.
My logo is home made, Ihope to get a better one if I make any profit!

Hi Steve,
Been up and running about 10 days so all is very new to me and I don't feel qualified yet to say how good Actinic is. My site is at www.partsforaircraft.co.uk if you want to take a look.

My site is only hours old so the real domain is not even processed yet but I wanted to add my site to the list for any feedback you could offer.
This is the first time I have used AfternicExpress and have found it very quick and easy to setup (although will probably find the posts on this forum very helpful as I come accross problems I did not realise I had)
The temporary site address is:-
http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops/toykdesign/index.php
The emails will not work if you try to use them today (4/11/06) as the domain has only just been registered so if you could please post any comments on this board - thanks for any help / suggestions

Not open for business until Feb 2007 but a few orders already.

I found Express easy to use, it's limited, but at £20+vat per month it's got to be the best.

My website has been going for about 8 months. Looking at upgrading to Actinic version 8 in time.

Yvonne, 100kb in terms of an image for an online shop is massive, are you optimising your images as jpegs or alike? Until everybody is on a broadband connection of some type, dial up users downloading any images that are around 100kb, will be waiting a few seconds for each one.
I would say that 20-30k is the most popular size for an image, 15Kb is ideal, but not sensible on some images.

image size should also depend onthe number of products on one page. If you have 20 then 20-30k for each one is high.
I still stick with 6-8k for my small product images, I also size them at 125px square. Then on extended info or one page per product allow 20-40k
