I have a number of Refreer websites that want to sell my products through a link to my catalogue site.

The Referrer's website owner has asked how they will know that a sale has occurred. if I use the basic referrer.pl code, this means that I can track if an order has occurred but it also means that the referrrer has to trust me to tell them.

There are affiliate software packages available that update the referrer and me but I would appreciate some advice on which packages you have ACTUALLY used.

I use a product called ClickClocker on one of my sites. It lets affiliates log in a see the sales that have been made etc etc.

However this is no longer available.......

Personally I'd use the referrer.pl code and Jan Strassen (Mole Ends) Affiliate Reports.

I have purchased this from Jan the its really useful - especially if you go for the extra Report which will run off sales by Referrer Id.

On my other site thats what I'm doing....

Thanks for the info. Can you answer my question about the referreing website automatically being able to track if an order occurred on my site.

You could create a rule in your mail application that would foward an email to the referrer.

I used to have the referrer code displayed in my copy of the customer email - then based on this value you could send an email out to the referrer.

If you are going the referrer.pl route you should contact Jan at Mole End as she may have an idea of how this could be done via actinic..

We use Ultimate Affiliate from www.groudbreak.net on some of our client sites.

It has limitations, but it's a good product for the money ($200 for 5 sites).

Hope this helps.
