Hi to all.
For the past 2 years we have been using Legend Communications (formerly Businessserve) as our ISP. Problem is recently the reliability of their service has seriously deteriorated, to the point that we need to find a new web host.
The SSL connection keeps failing, with the result that customers can't place orders, for days at a time - catastrophic.
We have a reasonable sized site with a fairly normal set up with SSL for the checkout pages.
See www.jktackle.co.uk for anyone interested.
The crux of my thread is can any of u recommend a really good reliable ISP Host we could transfer to, that you have been using with excellent reliability and support?
We need the usual SSL for checkout pages, webstats, quality 24/7 support etc.
Regards

I'm a relativly new Actinic user, but in my experience there is no comparison between the arrogant anonymouse service you get from the 'big boys' to the personal/caring service given by a smaller/actinic focused ISP.
In my particular case Pinbrook (www.pinbrook.net) has proved an excellent provider. Their Control Panel is far superior to Fasthosts who I moved from, they have Actinic expertise and they are active on these forums.

Hi Stewart,
For the last 3 years we have used Plusnet to provide our broadband service and have found them very reliable. For hosting we have been using Netcetera. They have a generous e-commerce package:

Their customer service and 24/7 e-mail support have been excellent and they seem to know all about Actinic's requirements. No doubt it'll all go wrong tomorrow now that I've dared to recommend them!!!

Hi Stewart,
For a start you could look at the companies recommended by Actinic. If you visit the following url and click on services followed by ecommerce hosting it will give you list
http://www.actinic.co.uk/
You could also search the forum for recommendations.
We use pinbrook.net and although its very early days we have found their support to be excellent and its nice to deal with somebody that knows what actinic is and how to help when problems arise!
Good Luck

Hi there, I would also recommend pinbrook (http://www.pinbrook.net) I have had no problems with them at all, they are friendly and very helpful! :)

If you want support then one of the specialists mentioned above are a good idea. For low cost, reliable hosting (but not necessarily strong on support) quite a few members use 1and1.
There are plenty of threads on this topic already so a search and read through will give you more information.
