How safe is the contact us form?

Hi

Previously when designing sites with forms, I have taken steps to prevent the forms being abused by spam bots, but I have noticed an absence of chat about things like CAPTCHA's (graphic image verification) anywhere. Is the Actinic contact us form safe from this kind of abuse?

AFAIK the .pl scripts that hold the email information is not directly accessible by bots etc.
