I might be thick here but I am creating attributes for a product but each attribute has the same choices.

Is there a copy command for choices? I can copy attributes but not choices.

the reason being I am selling mixed cases of syrup which have 50+ flavours each case contains 12 bottles. I am using the attributes for the customer to choose flavours.

Please tell me I do not have to key all 50+ choices 12 times

ahhhhh!

If you copy the attribute, don't the choices inside the attribute copy with it?

If your choices are not IN an attribute, can you create one on the product with the choices and drag them into it?

If you copy an attribute from one product to another Yes the choices come with it.

What I need to be able to do is create 12 identical attributes within a product.

As far as I can see you are unable to copy an attribute WITHIN a product

Hmm - can you use two products? Rename the attribute on product 2 and copy it to product 1 until you have all 12 done.

Could you copy the attribute, change the one that is there and then paste it. You have to make sure that the attribute name is unique but the choices can be the same.

Guys

the idea sounded great but alas "Attributes cannot be copied to a product which already has attributes."

or am I mising something, I need 12 attributes with the same options on flavours

Pete,

Tried this out and I am able to paste Attributes to a product even when there are existing ones in there, the attribute being pasted needs to be unique as you cannot have duplicates. If there are a lot of products that require the same set of attributes and choices, then you may have to create the attributes etc for the first product, youc an then select all teh attributes in the product, copy and paste to subsequent products.

Kind regards,
