View Full Version : credit card numbers

I manually download credit card details to my computer and process these on my merchant facility.

Trouble is... the 16 numbers of the credit card are always joined together in one long string. This makes it difficult to read off - especially on my high res laptop and especially when some credit cards have multiple numbers which are the same eg 4555532222123332 (not a real number).

Is there a way to have this info presented in four sets of 4: 4555 5322 2212 3332 in the credit card details field...that would sure help my eyes!

Hi Remmo

There's no way to do this, but I will add it to the wish list for you.

While on the subject of formatting CC details, can you also add to the list the option to present 'valid from'/'expiry' dates in a single field along the lines of 0706 so that they can be copied and pasted into virtual terminals fields rather than having to be remembered and re-written. One more area where mistakes can be eliminated.

Or perhaps when displaying the credit card number it could show it in blocks of four to help reading.

Paul,

Isn't that what remmo asked for at the start of this thread?

If you go to kermy's site at http://www.gbradley.co.uk/ and get the user input formatting patch, there is a method of splitting the card number into 4 blocks there. I use it, it works well.

Thanks Chris for putting it on the wish list.

I'll also check out Kermy's site

We use the card spacing mod, also the name and address capitaliser too.

Highly recommended.
