Am having a bit of trouble taking images into my site. Had started to use jpeg's without a problem and now when trying to use jpeg's I just have the dreaded red X. Changed format to PNG and no problems. When using csv flat file import from exel, message reads file does not exist although the file is there and in the site 1 folder. Call for same image with .png extension in same folder and no problem. So to summarise I can get round the problem but it is bugging me as it's not the first time that I have had trouble bringing jpeg's into the site.
I am new to this so go easy on me.

try using images with a *.jpg extension rather than *.jpeg

check the properties on the dreaded red x to see if the image is being referenced correctly

thanks for suggestions so far but changing extension to .jpg has no effect and refereces are ok as working with .png format located in same place. I had this problem when trying to put company logo image in, had to convert image to .tiff which worked fine.

I have the same problem now.
I import Excel spreadsheet saved as text (separator tabulation), with images files named after :
"images\"+(product reference)+".JPG"
Actinic messages me on import for some lines where images don't exist. He created without error most of the file.... and doesn't put any image with newly created products !!!
Have I to manually write images names for all of my 400 products ?

I can import 100's of products with images. The images must already be in the Site1 folder

...or, as in your case, a sub-folder within 'Site1' called 'images'.

is the problem a lower/upper case issue. make sure the filenames match on case

OK. I've just cleaned the xl sheet, so I don't get any error on import.
I got stg like ~90 products, with section / ref / short descr / full descr / price / img name / taxes / stock.
No error on importing.
But when I check one product, it doesn't have its image linked to. And preview as upload to localhost results are like before : not one image. (noimage.gif for all the products).
