When I click any add to cart button on our store I get an error message

The error message reads:

A General Script Error Occurred

Error: Error loading configuration file ./acatalog/A000.cat.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

Could anyone possibly tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

compact your database and then try a site refresh
