Hi i am having problems using a search engine to find my site, i have typed in various words relating to it and nothing comes up, apart from typing in the complete wed address no hint od the site?
Is this standard or am i doing something wrong?

I have changed my settings to not automaticly make meta tags and put my site name in and new pwtta tags etc etc but this still does not make any difference ,does anyone have any ideas on this?

How many directories are you listed in? How many incoming links from other websites do you have? It does not matter what you have done on your site until you provide the SE with a way to find you - a link from a site they already know about.

It is better (in my limited experience) to get your domain directed to a page on which you can say exactly what you want - and attract search engines by using a good script with all your keywords repeated several times in the page - and then a forward link to your catalogue site. I know this means buying space but its so cheap nowadays less than £20 annual for 10meg.
