Powered by question

Hi there,
I would like to add powered by ...my hosting company.. and browser link it their site in the same spot as the actinic powered by is. I tried editing the powered by template but just ended up with it showing up on the home page and then a big blank gap at the bottom of the screen on the other pages.
Can someone please tell me how to achieve this?

I added this to my site by adding the details to my site footer, which is set up in view/design options/shop defaults/.
