I'm using Developer V7.0.3

I'm trying to make a snapshot of my sites. I have have managed to do this sucessfully with all but one of my sites :confused:

I get the following error message, which forces Actinic to close;

Catalog - Internet Sales Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

Send Error Report or Don't Send

Any ideas on this error?

Also, if anyone knows how else I can get a snapshot of my site an alternative way, please let me know?

sounds as if is it one of those ones to send to support,

the only alternative way to backup in the meanwhile it to copy the site to zip

Sounds like it may be more of an operating system error than Actinic specific - after the usual compacting the database trick try rebooting the PC and seeing how the snapshot fares then

Thanks Jo will try and resolve it via support.

Basically i've just installed a new PC so need to import a snapshot to it but if I copy across the whole site folder, it should be ok, shouldn't it?

Snapshots are the way to go as they contain all changes pertinent to the site. If you do copy across check for any security keys which you can copy into Notepad

Thanks John.

I tried compacting the database and rebooting and the situation was the same.

Best to take Jo's advice and fire off to support.

Have you tried copying across the site folders yet?

If anyone comes across this persistant problem in the future, here's what I did to resolve it;

I used the Disk CleanUp within the windows System Tools and voila!

Attempted a snapshot and it worked first time.

(of course this may have had nothing to do with it ;) )

Hi I've got the same problem as you had, I've tried disk cleanup but no good, do you have any other ideas.

Thanks Nicola

Did you try rebooting the computer?

That's the other thing I did to get a snapshot.

Other then the other replies, I can't suggest anything else, sorry.

This could be a known problem. Try making sure that you have something other than a product or fragment selected on the product tree when you make the snapshot. i.e. try selecting a section and then making the snapshot.
