I'm having problem with setting up discounts (could be that it's early on Monday morning :) )

I have set up a product group which contains 99% of our products. I want to be able to offer customers a discount when the order any of these, however I want the discount to be x% if cart value £50 or less, y% if cart value £50.01 - £100 and z% if over £100

I have worked out the discounts ok but can't assign a product group - is this possible?

Thanks

Kathy

Are you setting up a cart contents discount or an order level discount? It should be a cart contents one if you want to assign a product group to it.

With the cart contents one though I can't have the discount levels can I (x for £50 orders, y for £100)

You have to set up several and tick the box that says only one cart level content discount per order, then you have to make sure that they are in the correct order in the list of discounts, the one at the top will be applied first, so you have to put the highest value one at the top and then the next and so on. Bit of a pain but it does work.

The discount will take only to money spent on items in the product group though into account when calculating the amount to discount the order by, not to the entire order value.

Thanks Jan - all works fine now.

Don't suppose there is any way of setting where the discount info shows in View Basket - at the moment it shows after the 1st product, then if you add more products they appear below - the discount changes as it should - but looks at bit odd - be much better if it showed at the end of the list of products.

There is an option on the last tab in the discount dialog that allows you to say whether the discount should be shown at the end of after each product (I think).
