View Full Version : Paypal - Credit Card - pending?

Good Morning,
A test order on my website from a registered paypal customer and paid for using the paypal system worked fine. However, two orders paid for by credit card over the paypal system appeared to have worked fine but have gone into a 'pending' mode for nearly a week now. The payments have not been debited from the customer's account and my paypal account has not been credited. (I have a 'business' paypal account.)
Any ideas whether I need to adjust any settings on my site - or what the problem might be?

The payments have not been debited from the customer's account and my paypal account has not been credited. This indicates that the payment procedure at Paypals end has not been completed. Once the customer is passed to paypal then actinic has nothing more to do with the transaction. If payments are not processed by Paypal then orders will go into payment pending.

Maybe I need to back-up a step or two.
I have a 'business' paypal account.
A test customer who is a registered paypal member ordered and paid through paypal and moneys were all transferred, great.
I do not have a merchant bank account and so I want to use paypal to enable customers to pay with credit cards via paypal.
I rang your helpline on 30/10 and spoke with Sibi in India. She said I had to enable the payment method "Card details captured for later processing".
Is this correct? What seems to happen is that customer can enter credit card details and the order is effectively placed but no follow-on financial transaction takes place. As per the payment method....the card details are entered (captured) but who is going to do the processing?!

Maybe there is something I need to change within my 'payment method set-up' to enable credit cards payment and to provide the link to my paypal account.
Please let me know what you think.

You may be getting confused here - this forum is NOT Actinic support it is a open forum for people who use Actinic.

As per the payment method....the card details are entered (captured) but who is going to do the processing?! This is totally incorrect and is the reason for the payment going into the payment pending. To enable Paypal go into business settings | Payment and security and select the paypal option from the menu (just change the Card details captured for later processing to paypal) enter your email and it will work.
