The support information for Actinic Express seems woefully thin on the ground. Are there any User Guides available for this product?

Hi Jeff
There are currently no user guides for Actinic Express. This product was basically designed for ease of use with relevant help tips on the right-hand side. If however there is/are any particular area(s) of the interface you need help with please let us know so we can point you in the right direction..

One thing I'm currently puzzled by is, what does the "Standard Payment Module" do?
Also, if I insert a picture in the product text, can I use it as a hyperlink?

Hi Jeff
1. The Standard Payment Module can be used for all those payment methods that do not collect any payment details from the buyer,so Invoice on Order, Cheque, etc would come under this. You need to install this module, then click on Edit and rename it to the relevant payment method. This module can be installed any number of times.
2. If you want to use the product image as a hyperlink, then this feature is not available at the moment. I will add it to the wish-list for you.
however, if you wish to insert an image into the product description, then you can use the special tags mentioned in the Help on the Edit product page.
The code would look something like this :
http://www.yourstore.co.uk/shops/store_name/images/catalog/image.jpg (http://www.yahoo.com target='_blank')
Hope this helps.

Another picture question: the code you show for inserting a picture references a URL. Is there anywhere in the shop site to upload graphics, or am I required to have another web site somewhere in order to have a URL I can reference?

Hi
The image URL tag is basically used for images on another site, but to get around this you can attach these images to any of the products or sections, apply so that they get uploaded to the server, and then dis-associate them from the product or section.
You can then use the URL of your shop followed by the image name; as an example please have a look at the code in my previous reply.

Apologies for making a meal out of this, but I'm not quite there yet.
I've uploaded the graphic as suggested, but my html knowledge is somewhat flaky. So I have entered:
http://www.mystorename.co.uk/shops/mystorename/images/catalog/mygraphic.jpg (http://www.mystorename.co.uk target='_blank')
Should there be something in place of '_blank' ? Or is there another problem?

Here's an exampe of Actinic Express code in action:
http://community.actinic.com/images/actinic_logo.gif
Hope that helps.
PS the 'url = ' should actually be 'url=' - but if I do that, this forum thinks I am creating a URL.

Thanks for the reply Chris, but I have to confess to being none the wiser.
Would you be so kind as to take a look at the code in Post 7 and see if you can tell me what is wrong with it?
Many thanks

Your code looks fine.

Which is a pity, because it doesn't work. I get a picture placeholder, but no picture.

Could you please post the code you actually used. I need to see how you've adapted the example code to point to a real image.

Finally got it to work!
I don't know if this was the problem, but the shop url is redirected from another ISP and I was using that url. When I changed to the default address, it worked.
Thanks to all who helped.
For reference, this is the code that worked.
