Our charity is running express to sell a calendar for 2007 and whilst I'm glad that we got express for the security and ease of use, I really think it's lacking in many areas of it's design and usability.
It's not so much that the features are basic, it just feels as though it's been rushed to be put together and hasn't been fully tested in real situations.
For example, it doesn't print mass mail labels, which is fair enough as it's not necessarily a feature that would be included in a low-end shop, but it doesn't have the invoice info positioned for peel-off labels on A4 invoice pages either.
It also doesn't let you easily create document enclosed pockets - by this I mean the stick-on clear plastic wallets that go on the front of boxes and packets. If I print off the invoice I have to fold the telephone number and email address out of the way at the bottom, and also fold away the invoice or delivery address so both aren't showing etc.
There are several others things that I don't like about Express, but as far as I can tell it's been around for over 6 months and the US states haven't been removed, so I think it'll be a while before any of the above will change either.
Is it possible to get an upgrade discount to catalog? If not, it looks like we'll have spent about £100 on a product that we'll be using for only a few weeks until we get something else sorted as soon as possible
