Path to CGI-BIN: websitefiles/cgi-bin/
Path to CGI-BIN to acatalog directory as viewed by the FTP server: ../acatalog

P.S my home page is available to view on the internet but no other links are working. This is the problem which i think may be down to the cgi-bin

Catalog URL - Add a closing / after acatalog
CGI-BIN URL - Add a closing / after cgi_bin
Website URL - Add a closing / after .biz
Path to CGI-BIN - Add an opening / before websites

Daniel,

The settings you have published above do not have the leading slash on /websites/cgi-bin/

We had basically this same conversation http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=25611&highlight=blessedbe last week. I thought there was something familiar about it.

Can you answer the last question on that old thread?

Sorry about that i couldnt findthe previous thread. And yes i have put everything back inside the websitefiles folder so my FTP server looks thusly

websitefiles > acatalog , cgi-bin , index.html

so htat acatalog index.html and cgi-bin are all inside websitefiles. I think that this is the right set up?? and of course all the necessary files are inside acatalog and cgi-bin.

any suggestions??? i really need to get this site up and running

OK. Using your standalone FTP package, connect to the webspace and right click the acatalog folder, then select permissions (may be properties depending on which FTP programme you are using) and ensure this is 777.

Right click the cgi-bin folder and chack permissions are 755.

Then go to Actinic, confirm that you network settings do still have all the slashes / in the right places and OK that page - don't Test and don't run the Wizard. Just click the upload icon and report any error message.

an error occured while sending the merge request" when the upload finishes. Close and restart Actinic make sure that the home icon is highlighted and do a purge and refresh.

I have done this but still the merge error occurs. My problem with the site also still persists.

I would take a snapshot and revert the site back to a standard Actinc theme - then try to get the site working "out the box" once it is working then import your snapshot and try again.

I know its not much help now but I always get the hosting working first with a new site, you can then see if anything you do while designing stops an upload. Who is the host? - at the end of the day it may be better to consider moving hosts to one Actinic is known to work well with.

The host is www.pulse8internet.co.uk hopefully this works or else i will try to change. Any particular host you would suggest.

Thanks for your help
