Business Multi-User Vs Developer

Hello,

Has Developer been phased out and replaced by Business Multi-User?
I was looking to upgrade my V.7 business to V.7 developer to enable me to create another web site.

I decided to wait until V.8 was available but now I see developer has disappeared and Business Multi-User & Designer are here. I have a site running in v.7 business and wish to create another site, what's the best way now? Business Multi-User? I might even want to create another later this year.

I know sales can probably answer my questions but never seem to get home in business hours and I wanted to hear real users views with no sales pitch before I part with my money.

Any advice appreciated.

v8 multisite allows you to run lots of site on one pc and is the natural sucessor to v7 developer. ie one person lots of shops

Nope, Business Multi User is Multi Site with Multiple User abilities, the direct replacement for Developer is Business Multi Site, which in effect is Developer under a new name via v8.

You can purchase an upgrade from Developer to Business Multi Site, which in effect retires your v7 title in favour of the v8 title you have, allowing a bit of time for you to migrate your existing v7 site into the v8 platform of course.
