Does anyone here have their site hosted on Fasthosts and use Actinic?
I used them for a while but they have recently changed their servers to a new type and my site ran too slowly. If you search through the forum you will find lots of people that have had problems, it seems to me that they either work perfectly or not at all and it seems to be fairly random as to which way it is going to go.
I would recommend using a host that writes and hosts Actinic sites because they will be ones that can help you if something goes wrong. There are quite a few on hear, some of who are fairly good and competitive in pricing with fasthosts. Some of these hosts also offer a try before you buy service (both of my new hosts did).

Jenny

I have two sites on Fasthosts both run OK with little downtime. Support is OK on the phone but slow by Email
The cheapest option on Fasthosts will not run Actinic you need the Home Plus version
Aparently in the past there was problems but for me after 6 months they seem OK

Hello Chris,
Can you think of any Tips or Tricks to setting up Actinic when using Fasthosts?
Thanks

Generally, the consensus seems to be that their Unix hosting is fine, but their Windows hosting does not seem to work that well with Perl - and hence Actinic gets into trouble.
Go for the Unix hosting if you can and then the Connection Wizard (Web | Configure Web Site Details) should be able to get your site configured and working.
