Sorry to get boring, but every time I get one thing right, I seem to create a different problem. I am associating the same product displayed in different sections by using components. If an order is processed for one of the copies, both products are shown to the customer in the shopping cart, although it does show only one product is being purchased. When I download the order and print the shipping document or the invoice, no products are coming out and I am having to write them in manaully. All other details on the docs. are fine. Any ideas what I have done wrong as this is fine if they order the original parent product.

For the online shopping cart, what you need to do is

1) Set the component to use the Associated Product Name and Associated Product Price.

2) Also tick the 'Component as separate order line' box.

3) Then go to the product that has the component and go to the 'component' tab. Set the pricing model to 'Sum of Component Prices' and tick where it says 'No order line for main product'.

This will mean there is only one line in the shopping cart for the product. For the reports, make sure you haven't just put a ' ' in for the component names when you were trying to improve the appearance of the shopping cart.

I have stumbled across a Tab called report description within the "child" product that has the component, and have added there the product code and description. I now get this information printed on my shipping note and invoice. I cannot get the individual costs to appear on these docs and assume it must be something to do with the pricing tab, but am not sure how this works. Can you help me once again please.

What version of Actinic are you using? (Including the 4 letter code number).

I am using Actinic Business 6.0.1.0.0.0.CLCB.

I think that there might be a bug with that version in that if you have product with no order line for main product line set you don't get lines set for the report. I have attached the standard 6.1.3 report, make a backup copy of your current report (invoices.rpt in your main catalog directory) and copy this one into it's place, this might sort it out. Do make the backup because is it possible that this report will not work with your system and if you don't make the backup you will have no reports rather than reports with bits missing.

Here is the packing list report as well, just in case the invoice works, this one is orders.rpt.

I would suggest you get hold of the upgrade to v6.1.3 from http://www.actinicdownloads.com/v6 as the fix I gave you for the shopping cart will not work in 6.0.1.

If you are going to upgrade, don't mess about with the reports I posted because after your upgrade your reports should work perfectly straight out of the box.

I cannot download 6.1.3 because you can only download if you have version 6.1 and above (I have 6.0). Any ideas how I can get round this.

Hi Dee

You can upgrade to 6.1.3 from 6.0, but you need the full program and not just the patch. Send me an email if you would prefer a CD to be sent out.

I am having terrible problems upgrading. I have upgraded successfully and when I try to import my snapshot the site upgrader has detected that files in my site have been manually amended. I have tried Yes to deal with them and upgrade them and also uninstalled everything and started again then tried No to use all new files while importing. Whichever way I try, my site looks awful, link buttons are missing, there is a search function which I don't have on my site etc. Help!

OK Dee

It is likely there is a quick solution to your woes, but your description there does not give me enough to make an initial diagnosis.

The quickest way to get your issue resolved will be to get some help from one of our email support team. You can register an email support request at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and they will get back to you and request the snapshot you made of your 6.0 site.

I'm sure we'll get you sorted out soon.

Thanks for your support on this. I bit the bullet and copied all my templates from an old version and overwrote the ones the upgrade had changed and apart from a couple of extra lines I don't know where they have come from on my templates, it all seems fine. My problems prior to the upgrade have now gone and my stock monitoring is working fine. Thanks again.
