Blank space at the top of each product page

For some reason, we now find that we have a blank space appearing at the top of each product page. The more products the greater the blank area. So much so that with a large number of products the whole page may appear to be empty!

The strange thing however is that this is only a problem in Explorer and not a problem in Firefox.

Check your product template for a <br> that is not contained inside a table cell.

You should have found fifty or so posts about this when you did your forum search.
