i've been looking around some actinic sites, and i've noticed that there's a lot of sites with a text nav bar on the left with a full category list.

is this a template? i've seen it used in a similar way quite a bit, and it suits our needs.

example http://www.bestpricetv.com

thanks in advance

This is a feature of the 'Clean Layouts' that come with v6. In order to benefit from the same sort of layout, you just need to add the sidebar into your 'Overall Layout template' (normally 'Act_Primary.html').

I have attached one to this email which, though it will not work with v5, will give you an idea about what sort of thing you should be looking to do.

I cannot remember the url for this, I am Sure that someone on here has it. It is a Fantastic free program that I use on mine. Takes some tweaking to make things work out well but it is invaluable.

and thank you sir! For a very small, struggling business with next to no resources to start out, your program was a God Send!

I have had some complaints about the menu getting in the way. A suggestion from experience:

It is very easy to do development on a site and forget about different screen resolutions. One smart thing to do is use small images and use the customvar to create popups of larger images.

Another, when using NorTree, is to Set the Single Root and use a one or two word Single Root Text to keep the menu out of view and out of the way.
