Actinic Generated Order Numbers

Good morning,

Is it possible to change the way in which order numbers are generated? I would like our order numbers to be numerical only, eg 10000001.

The order number is made up of elements of name, postcode etc etc and would suggest that the only way to change this would be to reprogramme the scripts that control this, but you would then be openning a potential duplicate order number is you are not careful if you needed to clear the live sit and reupload, which might restart the numbers.
