Hi there,

I feel really restricted with the fact that we can only upload 2 images. What's the deal with that?
I have products that require a few images to give it real justice, having 1 large image and 1 that is enlarged is really lame.
I would like to see some thumbnails for each product with a selection of around 3 images which the customer can click onto enlarge before deciding if to buy or not.

My MAJOR MAJOR problem is that Actinic can't get their head around foreign language text, we specialise in selling Greek language products and when we typed Greek text in the description box all you could see was numbers and strange symbols!?? OS commerce can accept many languages, why can't we do it on Actinic?

Another thing I would like to suggest is to include bullets (as well as the italics, bold and underline that already exist), always important when highlighting things about a product.

And maybe a selection of fonts perhaps?

How about a review option? I know that some other shoppping carts give you the option to ask your customer to write a review of that product, I think it helps undecisive customers choose whether it's the right product for them.

And last but not least.... similar to Amazon and other sites, why can't we have the familiar "Customers who bought this product also purchased...."

Anyway, I hope you find my suggestions food for thought :)

Hi Marios

Will attempt to answer a couple of your concerns..

1.when we typed Greek text in the description box all you could see was numbers and strange symbols!
I have passed this on to the development team and it will be looked at being fixed in a future release.

2. Another thing I would like to suggest is to include bullets (as well as the italics, bold and underline that already exist), always important when highlighting things about a product.
This is possible in Express at the moment. When editing a product, if you look at the Help on the right-hand side, you will find the following:

Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
- will allow you to create unordered list.

Regarding the other features, I have added them to the wishlist for developers to consider for future releases.

Actinic isn't very smart with regards the organization of files on server's side, it just dumps everything in the acatalog folder. In the case of images, for instance, it would be nice to put your images in separate folders (eg one for thumbnails, one for full views...) Therefore, one could give two images the same name and have one moved to the thumbnails folder and the other to the full view folder. Image management would then be more straightforward. Depending on the context images would be fetched in different directories.

product info <img src="fullview/image.jpg">

It's the first thing I've been annoyed with when I started using actinic, the lack of possibility to organize acatalog files in directories.

Lazyeye, you have posted in to the actinic express forum, i don't know if you noticed that, additionally there is a wishlist forum which is the best place to add such requests

Just one more thing.....

Any chance of having the option of a counter?

Hi
As far as I know, you already have the option of displaying the counter on your pages since the latest version 1.4.0 was released... go in to: set up store/ themes and colours and here you can insert
hitcount in the header or footer. this will display the number of pages viewed.

Thanks Mary!!

Didn't know it existed.

Don't mean to sound like a grumpy old man, but it's not the best looking counter in world, it would look much better and stand out if it was in a different font and in a box.

I didn't know that either! Didn't realise all that stuff had changed! Thanks Mary - exactly what this forum is useful for.

Just to add - the hit counter is the same for every page I notice, i.e. it doesn't show individual page views, but page views for the whole site. So unless there is a reason why you particularly want customers to see this information you can just use the Page Views counter on the start page of Administration.

Yeah good point Ali, it looks pretty naff if you ask me.

I know it's a bit old hat having a counter, but some people feel more confident buying from a store with a high counter rate.
